SYLA is a stackable wooden chair designed to stand the test of time with circular economy principles in mind. The frame of the chair is made out of recyled wood resin. The resin is mainly composed of dust and wood chips, which are coming from the same plywood sheet used for the seat part. Wood is a versatile raw material that can be used for various applications. This project aims to identify, develop and fully unlock the unused wood waste potential at industrial level and allow for the implementation of a wide range of wood waste valorisation practices among the furniture industry. Another positive aspect would be that the reuse of wood waste material contributes to
carbon fixing for a longer period.
